Holly High School Annual Education Report
August 20, 2012
Dear Parents and Community Members,
We are pleased to provide access to our Annual Education Report (AER), which includes key information regarding the 2011-2012 educational progress at Holly High School. The AER addresses the complex reporting information required by federal and state laws, including information about student assessment, Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) and teacher quality. If you have any questions about the AER, please contact Peter LoFiego, Principal, at (248) 328-3203.
The AER is available for your review in the HHS main office, and also electronically at http://holly.hhs.schoolfusion.us/.
Holly High School met AYP in English Language Arts and Mathematics for the general student population, and earned an “A” grade. The State of Michigan awarded the school a grade of “B”, however, due lower than expected performance of two population subgroups. With this in mind, we are dedicated to continuously working to ensure a quality educational experience and high level of academic excellence for all students.
State law requires that we also report the following information:
1.New students are assigned to Holly High School by the Holly Area Schools Pupil Accounting Office following completion of 8th grade.
2.Holly High School is fully accredited by NCA/AdvancEd (since 1948) and are currently in the fourth year of the five year accreditation process.
3.Holly High School has an aligned curriculum to meet the standards and benchmarks of the Michigan Merit Curriculum and Common Core Standards. Copies of the curriculum may be found at the HAS District website.
4.To review data on ACT and MME Achievement results, parent/teacher conferences, dual enrollment, and Advance Placement (AP), please click here.
Congratulations to our students for continuing the HHS tradition of exceptional performance on MME and ACT assessments. Improved student achievement is the result of diligence and dedication on the part of our students, parents, and staff. The HHS staff looks forward to working with students and parents on our journey toward challenging academic success in the upcoming year.
